Rum has made a great start to his show career and won his Junior Warrant at eleven months. He made his debut at LKA, aged exactly six months, and won his class. He has won several pastoral puppy groups at open shows and went Best Puppy in Show at the Midshires BCC and at the Bearded Collie Club Open Shows. At the Scottish Breeds Ch he excelled himself, winning best Beardie pup under Liz Sharkey and going on to Best Puppy in Show under Jeff Horswell.

Rum won the vast majority of his classes at championship shows and gained his JW at 11 months. He took a break from the ring to grow his adult coat and to give brother Jack (Ragthyme) a chance to learn the ropes. Rum's show career resumed in May 2007 when he won his class at Birmingham National. He went BIS at the Bearded Collie Club of Scotland Open Show in June. He won all but one of his classes in 2007 and is now reaching maturity. In 2008 Rum won his first CC under breed specialist Bryony Harcourt Brown.Rum's career was blighted by his owner's ill health but he won his third CC and became a Champion in March 2013.

Just six months later Rum developed an inoperable stomach cancer and was put to sleep to prevent further suffering. His stud career was limited by our belief that bottleneck sires are dangerous to the well being of the breed. He sired 14 litters and his progeny includes five UK Champions and a dual CC winner. Rum was a great Beardie and a wonderful companion. We miss him.

Rum's hip score is 3:4.
